Peel the layers of stress away! Relax and practice mindfulness through nature connection. Receive all the added benefits nature offers: increased creativity, concentration, memory and immunity. We’ll do a series of activities to engage our senses, bring us to the present moment, hone intuition and connect with the natural world around us. Over time we have started to lose our connection with nature as more technology creeps into our lives. Disconnect and wash away the technology induced stress in this effortless way. Also known as Shinrin Yoku or Forest Therapy, this practice originated in Japan where it’s very popular.
Materials Needed – Please bring water or if the day is cold you might want to consider bringing a thermos with a hot drink. Wear comfortable clothing and good shoes for walking on easy trails & sunscreen/hat. If the weather is cool you should dress to stay warm. Bring one more layer than you think you will need! We will be moving at a leisurely pace and in the shade, so temperatures may be cooler than you expect. The class will still be on if it’s raining, unless it is a really big downpour or violent storm. If it is raining it’s important to have a waterproof shell including pants, and many people bring umbrellas also. Rain often enhances sensory experience and makes for some of our most memorable classes.
