RAD - Self Defense for Women

The Acton and Littleton Police Departments are proud to support and offer the 12-hour program: Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) System. This program contains realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and risk avoidance, then progressing into the basics of hands-on defense training. The final class includes a simulation where students are able to demonstrate all of the physical defense skills they have learned.

R.A.D. is not a Martial Arts program. This course is taught by nationally certified R.A.D. instructors and provides each student with a workbook/reference manual.

This course is being offered for all women (ages 13 & up) who are interested.
