Mastering Mindfulness for Everyday Life with Marianne Cook
Mastering Mindfulness for Everyday Life
Among its many studied benefits, mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression; improve sleep, focus, and overall physical health; and increase self-compassion. But what exactly is mindfulness, and how can you incorporate it into your everyday life?
This four-part course offers an accessible introduction to mindfulness through group instruction and gentle, supportive guided practices, including seated meditation, visualization, and body scans. Participants will have the opportunity to explore mindfulness in a welcoming environment and develop practical skills they can use in daily life.
All backgrounds and mobility levels are welcome, and practices can be adapted to meet individual needs. Whether you are brand new to mindfulness or an experienced practitioner looking to build upon or refresh your skills, this course provides a supportive space to learn, practice, and reconnect with the present moment.
Instructor: Marianne Cook, EdD, LICSW, is a psychotherapist in private practice and a trained Mindfulness Facilitator through the Mindfulness Center at Brown University.
