PROXY REGISTRATIONS, PROGRAM CONFIRMATION & DISCLAIMER: A person may submit another's registration form, provided the form is properly completed and signed. The Recreation Department reserves the right to correct mistakes or adjust program fees made in this brochure or online at the time of release by print or internet and cancel any program due to low enrollment or inclement weather. Confirmations are not mailed out. All registrations are considered accepted unless you are contacted – no news is good news!
NARA CAMP Refund Policy:
You may withdraw up to seven (7) business days prior to the start of a session. A $50 non-refundable fee will be applied for each session. Pre-Camp and Post-Camp: A fee of $10 is applied for each session. Exception to policy; a written letter from a licensed physician excusing participant from a program prior to the 1st day of session start date. Refunds will not be issued due to weather conditions or any water closure. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Recreation Office. Refund requests are not filtered through NARA Summer Staff. Behavior: We take great pride in the outstanding respect that our participants have exhibited over the years with our program. For the enjoyment and safety of all participants and staff, inappropriate behavior will not be permitted. Our program has a zero tolerance policy. Grounds for dismissal include: disrespect for others or property, foul language, fighting, bullying, sexual harassment, spitting and biting. Refunds will not be given to a participant who has been dismissed from the program due to behavioral issues.
Switching Session Fee: A fee of $25 per session fee is applied (per person) pending availability of session openings.
NARA BEACH: Refunds are not given for beach memberships. Refunds are also not given for weather related closures, Board of Health water standards, or lifeguard safety ratios. The Town of Acton has the right to revoke a beach membership for non-compliance to beach rules and regulations.
REFUNDS & WITHDRAWALS: You may withdraw from a program up to 7 (seven) business days prior to the start date—a non-refundable administrative fee of $25 will be applied to each registration. After that time, no refunds will be issued. Administrative Fees are non-refundable. All requests must be submitted in writing to the Recreation Department requesting cancellation. Refund requests are not accepted through instructors. Refunds by check require several weeks to process. Refunds will not be made for classes missed due to weather. Exception to refund policy timeframe: Written letter from a licensed physician excusing participant from a program prior to first class. Concert tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred. Acton Recreation is not responsible for lost tickets. NARA Camp and Beach Refund/Withdrawal Policy: See registration form. Please inquire prior to any registration if you have any refund questions.
CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY: Classes are cancelled if Acton-Boxborough Schools are closed due to weather. Independent instructors are responsible to notify participants of class cancellations. Efforts will be made to reschedule classes cancelled due to weather but are not guaranteed. Any class cancellation due to instructor unavailability will be rescheduled or refunded. Participant's inability to attend rescheduled sessions does not qualify for refund.
If the Town closes offices due to weather, the Recreation Center will not be open.
BUS TRIPS: Bus trips will run if the minimum number of registrations is received. Our trips are merged with other local towns to help meet the minimum required. If a trip is cancelled due to the lack of minimum participants, a full refund will be issued. Please note that pickup/drop-off locations are subject to change if an adequate number of registrations is not received for a pickup location in Acton. Refunds will not be issued for a non-Acton pick-up/drop-off location. In the event of illness, a trip can be transferred but not refunded once a commitment has been made. If you have any refund questions, please inquire prior to signing up. Individual bus trip refund policies will be outlined in the trip description.
BUS TRIP SPECIAL NEEDS INFORMATION: If you consider yourself to be a person with special needs, we respectfully request that you travel with a companion who can assist you. This way we can be sure that your safety and comfort is not compromised. Please call us to discuss the details and demands of the activity before signing up for bus trips.
